EASTERN CAPE - SAPS TASK TEAM LAUNCHED TO CATCH 3 DANGEROUS ESCAPEES

Police have launched a manhunt following the escaping of three offenders from lawful custody on Tuesday, 7 May 2019 at the Middledrift Correctional Centre.

According to the reports, the three suspects were serving sentences for crimes ranging from robbery, attempted murder and parole break. They have been identified as Aviwe Light / Nkwalase, Andisa Vas and Sizwe Mhlana.

An investigation is also underway, after the police received reports of a hijacked car, a Blue Cadet which was later recovered a few kilometres from where the incident took place. Lawlessness has absolutely no room and will not be tolerated within our communities” Lieutenant General Ntshinga said.
