Police nabbed a man for attempted murder and also seized an unlicensed 9mm pistol with eleven rounds of ammunition in Humansdorp yesterday.
On Sunday, 17 March 2019 at about 8pm, police received a complaint of an alleged shooting incident at Alwyn Street, Humansdorp. At the scene, police’s preliminary investigation led them to a spaza shop in Alwyn Street, Humansdorp, where a 9mm pistol with eleven rounds of ammunition were seized. Police nabbed a 24-year-old man for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
A suspect was also charged for a case of attempted murder and is due to appear at the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court today on charges of attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. A preliminary investigation has revealed that a CZ P-09 firearm that was allegedly found in possession of the suspect was stolen in Free State in January this year.
