PORT ELIZABETH - ANDILE LUNGISA RESIGNS AS REGIONAL CHAIRPERSON OF THE ANC IN NELSON MANDELA BAY

The matter surrounding the election of the regional chairperson of the ANC in the Nelson Mandela Bay region has finally been laid to rest.

The recently elected, Andile Lungisa, stepped down from the position.

Before the elective conference the ANC's secretary general, Gwede Mantashe advised Lungisa not to stand for the position.

That's because an ANC office bearer in a higher structure cannot stand for election to a lower structure. Lungisa is a member of the provincial executive committee.
