PORT ELIZABETH - POLICE ARREST 3 & RETRIEVE CAR BEFORE OWNER REALISES IT'S BEEN STOLEN




PE Flying Squad arrested three suspects aged between 21 and 26 years on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property that was reported at Mount Road  SAPS.
It is alleged that on 2017-04-13 at approximately 01:00 members were busy patrolling the M4 when they noticed a silver Toyota Corolla towing a Mazada 323. The vehicles were stopped and details verified.  
According to the information received the Mazada vehicle was stolen in Central but the complainant only realized his vehicle was missing when the SAPS made contact with him. All three suspects were detained and both vehicles were impounded for further investigation.
The swift arrests of these suspects is commended by Mount Road Cluster Commander Maj Gen Funeka Siganga as vehicle theft is a concern and specifically the older models that is being targeted.
Further investigations will be conducted to establish whether these suspects may be linked to other cases in the Port Elizabeth area. 
The suspects are currently in custody and will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates’ court on charges of possession of suspected stolen vehicle on Tuesday 2017/04/18.
