Four Rhodes University students charged with damaging public property have been granted bail.
The group appeared at the Grahamstown Magistrates Court today where three were released on R1,000 bail and a fourth on R3,000.
They face charges of malicious damage to property and public violence.
The students were arrested on campus during clashes with Public Order Police this week.
Currently, the situation on campus remains calm.
Rhodes University spokesperson Catherine Deiner says, “The police are still on campus to ensure the safety of staff and students.”
