PORT ELIZABETH - QUEENSTOWN POLICE ARREST GELVANDALE MAN WANTED FOR 3 MURDERS

Quick response from the Queenstown K9 Unit and Flying Squad led to the arrest of a 30 year-old wanted man from Gelvandale, Port Elizabeth, on Tuesday. The man had gone on the run after he was linked by Port Elizabeth police to three murder cases as well as gang conspiracy.

According to Queenstown police, they received a tip off from Port Elizabeth police that the suspect was heading to Queenstown and they quickly deployed police members in the area.

“After receiving information about the suspect, the members positioned themselves at possible entrance routes into the Queenstown area. At about 13:00, the suspect was spotted at the Queenstown Shell garage, driving a BMW, and was arrested,” said Queenstown police spokesperson, Namhla Mdleleni.

She added that the suspect was kept in Queenstown police custody before being transported back to Port Elizabeth where he was received at the Gelvandale police station.

The suspect is expected to appear in court soon facing three murder charges and gang conspiracy.
