Young boys playing in the area of Komkhulu location at Zingqayi Village, Butterworth, were shocked to discover a human skull on Saturday, Eastern Cape police said.
“The boys informed elders about the grisly find who in turn contacted Msobomvu police station, Captain Jackson Manatha said on Sunday.
The boys took the elders to the area where they found the skull. Clothes were found at the scene and were positively linked with a missing man by the name of Nkosinathi Ntshinga, 47. He went missing during October 2014.
“The family of the missing man, who hailed from Blue Sky Village, Butterworth, identified the clothes as those of the deceased. An inquest docket has been opened for further investigation,” Manatha said.
