The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to advise the residents and businesses that there has been an unforeseen delay in the repair of the water pipeline to Uitenhage. At this stage, it is difficult to predict when water will be restored. Water tankers will continue to be deployed in affected areas.
Affected areas include:
Nelson Mandela Bay Logistics Park
Van Riebeeck Hoogte
Valleisig
Scheepershoogte
Fairbridge Heights
Strelitzia Park
Winterhoek Park
Vanes Estate
Levyvale
Janssendal
Mosel
Penford
College Hill
One of the main water supply pipelines supplying Uitenhage burst. This has caused reservoirs to empty and large parts of Uitenhage are either without water or experiencing low pressure.
The pipeline has been shut down and repair work is continuing.
At this stage water tankers have been deployed at the following locations:
Corner Donald Drive and Van Riebeeck Street
Corner Van der Stel Avenue and Van Riebeeck Street
Daniel Pienaar Street.
Residents are urged to use water sparingly.
