PORT ELIZABETH - SHOP OWNER GUNNED DOWN & KILLED IN MISSIONVALE SHOOTING


Police detectives in Port Elizabeth, are seeking the community's assistance in tracing a Somalian man allegedly involved in a murder on Tuesday night.

Colonel Priscilla Naidu says according to police information, 32-year-old Somalian national Adan Abikadir Jama had locked up his shop around 7 pm.

He then walked across the road and was standing outside another shop in Kerk Street, Missionvale, when shots were fired at him.

The owner of that store was still inside and when he heard shots and opened the door he found the victim lying on the sidewalk.

Jama was rushed to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Colonel Naidu says the suspect, who is also a Somalian, is known to police but is still at large.

The motive for the fatal shooting is believed to be business related.

Anyone who can assist police in tracing the suspect is asked to contact the Algoa Park police or their nearest police station.
