Police in Mthatha are looking for information that may lead to the arrest of the assailant/s who shot and killed a 55-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man at Tyumbu locality in Mthatha in the early hours of today, 24 May 2019.It is alleged that an 18-year-old granddaughter to the deceased woman saw the door to her grandmother's room was open and when she went to check she found both bodies lying in a pool of blood. When police investigated the scene it is suspected that the assailant/s gained entrance by braking the burglar and the door.
Both the deceased sustained gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. Several cartridges of a 9mm pistol were collected from the scene. The motive for their killing is not known however police investigations continue.
