SOUTH AFRICA - FUEL PRICES SET TO RISE AGAIN IN MAY

South African motorists could be in for another petrol price hike next month if the latest data from the Central Energy Fund is to be believed.

Mid-month data shows an under-recovery of around 55 cents per litre of petrol, while diesel shows an over-recovery of around 5 cents.

If this trend continues, 95 octane petrol could increase by 55c with 93 grade petrol rising by 54c a litre.

The key driver behind the expected hike is the rising cost of international petroleum, which South Africa imports.
