Port Elizabeth police have detained a suspect after a bicycle stolen from the home of a murder victim was found at a business premises in Rocklands not far from the scene.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said that a 34-year-old man was detained on a charge of the possession of suspected stolen property.
She said that police will also probe a possible link to the murder of 67-yer-old Juan Lombaard, whose body was discovered in his home by his gardener on Monday morning.
The bicycle was identified by the gardener as his property which was stolen from the house.
Police said earlier that Lombaard was found on the living room floor with his hands and feet bound.
He had a wound to the head.
Naidu said the suspect is due to appear in court soon.
