PORT ELIZABETH - 3 CRIMINALS ARRESTED IN BETHELSDORP AFTER ROBBING NORTH END HOME

Three suspects were arrested hours after allegedly breaking into a house in Middle Street in North End during the early hours of this morning.

It is alleged that the complainant (30 years) was asleep when at about 03:15 the suspects broke in and stole various household items. Two men entered the room and attacked the complainant with a knife. A struggle ensued and the owner’s dog attacked one suspect while the owner grappled with the other.  A third suspect was in the passage of the house.

One suspect (30 years) was apprehended on the scene by police.  The complainant’s VW Golf was also stolen. The vehicle was circulated and at about 06:30, members of PE Flying Squad picked up the tracker signal in the Bethelsdorp area.

Three suspects were apprehended in Rensburg Street with the vehicle. Three suspects aged 21, 26 and 29 years old are detained on a charge of possession of suspected stolen vehicle.

Police are investigating a link between the house robbery and the possession of suspected stolen vehicle. Suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
