Twelve finalists competed for the Miss South Africa crown on Sunday evening, in a hotly contested, televised pageant.
Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was crowned the eventual winner with first and second princess' titles being awarded to Adè van Heerden and Boipelo Mabe respectively.
The title was previously held by Ntandoyenkosi Kunene who said her life had been changed by the competition.
Maps Maponyane, Unathi Msengana, Cameron van der Burgh, Bridget Masinga, Gisele Wertheim Aymes, Ezra Davids and former Miss South Africa Claudia Henkel judged the competition.
During Miss SA’s reign, she will represent South Africa at both the Miss World and Miss Universe pageants.
The winner will receive R1-million in cash from Sun International and Cell C as well as a bouquet of other prizes.
Shané Naidoo, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Boipelo Mabe, Adè van Heerden, Priyeshka Lutchman were chosen as the last five finalists.
