The South African research vessel, SA Agulhas 1, has just docked in the Port Elizabeth harbour after a scientific expedition to Antarctica and Mauritius.
It was a chartered commercial voyage by a group of Indian scientists, but it was highly beneficial to 30 South African cadets on board from the national cadet program.
The Agulhas sailed on the 5th of December last year. South Africa has positioned itself as an exploration and scientific service provider.
These partnerships strengthen our position in maritime studies.
