A Port Elizabeth school boy has died in a tragic accident today in Cape Road on Wednesday.
Police said the 16-year-old Morningside High School learner was hit by a car as he allegedly chased after a football which had gone into the road.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says two boys were playing with the ball on the middle island in Cape Road in the vicinity of Makro.
She says one of the boy's stepped into the road to retrieve the ball when he was struck by a car.
Janse van Rensburg says a case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
The learner's name has not yet been released.
