Uitenhage detectives successfully apprehended two alleged house robbers this afternoon, Wednesday, 9 November 2016 after working non-stop and following up on various leads.  The arrests follow a house robbery that occurred this morning at about 07:30 at a flat in Caledon Street, Uitenhage.  Five armed suspects allegedly entered the premises and demanded cash from the 26-years-old complainant.  The suspects forced the victim to the inside of her flat where they took an undisclosed amount of cash and cellphones.  As the suspects wanted to exit the flat, the complainant’s husband entered the premises and they took his Toyota Fortuner and fled with the vehicle.

Acting Uitenhage Station Commander, Colonel Andre Swart praised the members for their speedily arrest and said: “Detectives will not stop with their search for the remaining suspects and will ensure that they are brought to book.”

The two suspects are due to appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate’s Court on a charge of house robbery on Friday, 11 November 2016.
