Suspected gang kingpin, Wendell Petersen (30) was denied bail in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates' Court today. Petersen and five other suspects are charged on 3 murder cases, conspiracy to commit murder, Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA) sect 9 of Chapter 4 (racketeering and gangsterism), illegal possession of a firearm as well as illegal possession of ammunition.
It is alleged that on 14 September 2015, three people were shot and killed in separate incidents in Gelvandale and Mount Road policing areas.
The SAPS remains focussed on instilling peace and security to the people of the Northern areas and we will not be deterred in our quest to ensure that the people in these areas are and feel safe.
