The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has rejected a plea bargain made by a Plettenberg Bay resident, who is on trial for his alleged links to an international child porn syndicate.
The man appeared in the Knysna Regional Court yesterday.
The 38-year-old man was arrested last January as part of an international operation involving South African and Belgian authorities.
The accused's lawyer, Carl Jeppe, says the plea and sentence agreement was turned down.
"Unfortunately, the State and the defence could not finalise the terms of the conditions of the sentence agreement. We only informed last Thursday by the State that they would not accept the plea proposal as presented by the defence."
The matter has been postponed to 17 October.
