UITENHAGE - COMMUNITY TIP OFF LEADS POLICE TO DRUG BUST & 3 ARRESTS IN KWANOBUHLE

On Tuesday, 30 August 2016, members from the crime prevention unit in Kwanobuhle obtained a search warrant, after receiving valuable information.

At about 10:00, this morning, members pounced on a residential home in Tshiwo Street, Kwanobuhle and discovered 167 mandrax tablets, tik, dagga and 31 crystal meth pipes.  The drugs seized are estimated at about R10 300-00.

Three male suspects, between the ages of 15 – 24-years-old were arrested and detained on charges ranging from the illegal possession of mandrax, dagga, tik and crystal meth pipes.  The suspects are due to appear in the Kwanobuhle Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 1 September 2016.

The Station Commander of SAPS Kwanobuhle, Colonel Zolani Xawuka, praised his members and said: “We call on communities to continue providing valuable information to the police and to expose their criminal activities, because the South African Police Service will act”.
