Today, Saturday 9 July 2016, two drug-related successes were achieved under Operation Lockdown which is aimed at combatting gang-related crime and violence in Port Elizabeth's Northern Areas.
At 10:30 members of the Gang Intervention Team stopped a vehicle in Standford Road, Gelvandale and arrested two men after 500 Mandrax tablets were found.
Later, at 12:00, members of the SAPS National Intervention Unit arrested a 63 year old man in Brutus Street, Gelvandale for dealing in dagga. In both cases the accused will appear in court on Monday.
