Investigators believe they are closing in on an international abalone smuggling syndicate operating in Port Elizabeth.
Police confirmed that another suspected has been arrested in connection with the Chinese ring.
So far, 11 people are in custody after the Hawks raided the R500 million operation last week.
The Hawks' Hangwani Mulaudzi said: "Investigations are continuing and more suspects may be taken in. However, we are happy with the progress made so far. We are of the view that we have broken one of the largest abalone syndicates in this country."
