A 31-year-old Eastern Cape man has been arrested for allegedly raping his ten-year-old neighbour.Police say the child was sexually assaulted while helping the man collect logs in a forest near Butterworth on Sunday.
The child reported the matter to officials after she was threatened and abandoned in the woods.
The police’s Jackson Manatha says, “Because the suspect is known to the family, they didn’t suspect anything. The girl was allowed to accompany the man to the forest.
“The man forced the young girl to undress herself by threatening her, he then allegedly raped her.”
