The Department of Agricultural Forestry and Fisheries and the Tactical Task Force in Port Elizabeth have made another abalone bust on Marine Drive.
The 458 units of abalone are valued in the region of R60 000.
The Tactical Task Force told AlgoaFM News that they responded to information from the public about illegal abalone activities along the Wild Side of Marine Drive late on Wednesday.
The suspect-vehicle was stoped and searched and was found to contain diving equipment, but no abalone.
The vehicle and suspect were released and left the area as they could not be linked to any illegal abalone activities.
However, on further investigation, several bags of abalone were found hidden in the bushes.
The abalone has been booked into the Humewood police station.
