EASTERN CAPE - 3 CHINESE TRAWLERS SUSPECTED OF ILLEGAL FISHING HAVE BEEN ESCORTED TO EAST LONDON HARBOUR
Three Chinese trawlers, suspected of illegally fishing in South African waters, have been escorted to East London harbour. The Fisheries Department’s Bomikazi Molapo says initially only two vessels were being monitored.“On their way, while they were escorting the two vessels, they came across a third vessel which was also an illegal vessel. All three of the vessels have been escorted to the Port of East London. The vessels docked last night and have been thoroughly inspected.”
Earlier this month, authorities escorted another suspicious vessel to Cape Town harbour.
