LORRAINE - POLICE SWOOP DOWN AND ARREST MAN CULTIVATING DAGGA WORTH R58 000

A 53-year-old Lorraine man is expected to appear in court soon on drug related charges. It is alleged that on Thursday, 28 April 2016, Mount Road Crime Prevention Unit (W/O Shaun Wait) and PE Flying Squad (W/O’s Deon Fourie and Gerhard Van der Merwe) acted on information received about possible drug activities at a house in Trevor Street Lorraine.

The officers executed a search warrant at the house where they found processed dagga stored in various containers. Police also confiscated about 100 dagga plants which were growing in the back yard. The total weight of the dagga is 2,9kg and the estimated street value is R58 000. The suspect was detained on charges of cultivating dagga plants and dealing in dagga.
