A man who was arrested for a hit-and-run accident on Friday night in Humewood, Port Elizabeth, has been granted bail.
Twenty-seven-year-old William Taute was released on bail of R5 000 on Tuesday.
He was arrested on Friday night about two kilometres from the scene of the accident where he allegedly mowed down two teenager girls at an intersection.
One of the teenagers, 16-year-old Jaydene Lucas, died in hospital on Monday when her family took the decision to turn off her life support system.
Her friend, 18 year-old Lorren Abrahams, was seriously injured in the accident and remains in hospital.
Taute faces several charges that include culpable homicide and fleeing the scene of an accident.
His case was postponed to the 10th of May.
