GRAHAMSTOWN - POLICE NEED ASSISTANCE IDENTIFYING BODY OF UNKNOWN MAN FOUND ON N2

Grahamstown police are seeking public assistance from community to identify the body of an unknown  man. This comes after police discovered a body of an unknown man on the N2 near Coombs in the early hours of Saturday morning the 27 February 2016.

It is alleged that the victim was dropped off at the stop and go by an unknown motorist. The victim who was allegedly inebriated said to the worker stationed at the stop and go that he is on his way home to Petersburg. He proceeded on foot towards the direction of Peddie. A short while later, a motorist who was travelling from Peddie towards Grahamstown stopped at the stop and go and informed the worker that there's a body of a male lying on the road. Upon further investigation the worker confirmed that it was the same individual they had met earlier.

A case of culpable homicide was opened and is under investigation.

The victim appears to be in his late twenties. He is short and light in complexion. He was wearing a pair of white tekkies, white pants with green and yellow stripes and a black long sleeved T-shirt.

Since becoming aware of the incident, several attempts to trace his relatives by the police were made with no positive results.
