Butterworth Police have opened an inquest docket after a community member found the body of a woman floating in the Gcuwa River, Mqambeli Village Butterworth. The body was found on Sunday 28 February 2016 at about 07:15.She is estimated to be about 45 years old. She was wearing a black T-shirt and a blue and white dress. The community of Mqambeli Village, Butterworth did not know the deceased. She has been taken to a state mortuary which is at Butterworth.
She did not have any visible injuries. Butterworth Police are appealing to community for assistance to identify the body. Butterworth Police can be contacted at 047 401 1100
