The South African Police Service in Uitenhage appeals to the community to be more vigilant when doing electronic transactions, after several reports were received. This relates especially to goods and services advertised online. In most incidents perpetrators lured victims into paying huge amounts of cash through bank transfers or other payment methods for goods or services, which they never receive even after payment was done.
Victims also purchase products that are advertised through the internet or social media. These items are never delivered and include anything worth buying. Community are advised to be cautious with on line transactions and payments made.
